NeuroDevelopmental Treatment (NDT) is a hands-on, problem solving approach specifically designed for Children with Cerebral Palsy and other neuromotor disorders. Intervention involves direct handling and guidance to optimize function. In this particular case (pictured on the right), this rural Alaskan child’s functional goal was to participate in providing food for his family.
Treatment is guided by the child’s reactions throughout every session. Hands on Therapy owner, Melissa, has completed the 8-week training for certification and maintains this certification through ongoing education. Other therapists have also attended training courses and integrate this method in treatment.
