At Hands on Therapy, we believe that there is a reason for all behavior and that all behavior is a type of non-verbal communication. We believe that if children can do an activity, they will. If they don’t, therapists and parents become detectives to figure out why. Sometimes, it is a result of an inability to sustain the just-right level of alertness. The Alert Program teaches children and families how to monitor, maintain, and change their level of alertness so that it is appropriate for a task.
The program also teaches sensorimotor strategies as part of home programming and in clinic treatment to help manage levels of alertness. Click here for more information »
