NeuroDevelopmental Treatment (NDT) is a hands-on, problem solving approach specifically designed for Children with Cerebral Palsy and other neuro-motor disorders. Intervention involves direct handling and guidance to optimize function. In this particular case (pictured on the right), this rural Alaskan child’s functional goal was to participate in providing food for his family.
Treatment is guided by the child’s reactions throughout every session. This specialized treatment is provided by PT and OT at Hands on Therapy. Two of our therapist have completed the rigorous 8-week training for certification and maintain this certification through ongoing education. Other therapists have also attended training courses and integrate this method in treatment and are working toward certification.
Hands on Therapy, Inc. is a facility partner with NDTA, and working toward becoming a Center of Excellence with the organization. For further information and research articles, please visit www.ndta.org.
