We are now accepting new referrals for children who have difficulty with speech and/or language!
Hands On speech therapists teach children how to communicate within daily activities. Therapists use the integration of functional words, phrases, sentences, picture communication systems, and nonverbal communication to increase their interactions. Therapist’s goal is to improve overall abilities to express wants, needs, and thoughts with those around them.
Hands On speech therapists can provide treatment for, but not limited to, the following diagnoses:
- Articulation Disorders
- Language Disorders
- Developmental Delay
- Cognitive Impairments
- Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
- Down Syndrome
- Hypotonia (Low muscle tone)
- Motor Speech Disorders
- Fluency Disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Childhood Apraxia of Speech
- Intellectual Disability
Hands On speech therapists want to give voices to children as they learn how to be more independent in their environments. We aim to allow them an intense language learning experience during activities they will enjoy participating in.
Specialized treatment strategies are implemented within structured play therapy to maximize articulation and language. Therapists disguise facilitation techniques and prompting hierarchies while targeting receptive and expressive language abilities, social skills and articulation.
